PSS benefits generally consist of three components:

  1. Your member component – your fortnightly contributions plus scheme earnings
  2. Your productivity component – fortnightly superannuation productivity contribution made by your employer on your behalf, plus scheme earnings.
  3. Your employer-financed component – paid by your employer and determined when you leave PSS and claim a benefit; its value is the remaining balance when your member and productivity components are deducted from your total lump sum benefit (keep in mind, your final PSS benefit is calculated using your final average salary and accrued benefit multiple).
